What is osteopathy
For your body to function well, its structure must also work well. Osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance.
Osteopathic treatment involves the use our hands to perform gentle and non-invasive techniques, which include gentle cranial work, joint manipulation, stretching and soft tissue massage to relieve tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. All treatment is based on the well understood principles of osteopathy that were established by the founder of osteopathy, AT Still in 1874. In addition to the initial relief of symptoms, I aim to identify and reduce the influence of factors that might be responsible for maintaining any problem. I may also provide you with advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery and promote health. |
